About SMG
SMG Anjalai Ammal Educational Society is a Registered Society, Registered on 21.09.1993 at Puducherry.
SMG is the abbreviated form of Sudha Moulee Groups and Anjalai Ammal is derived from the memory of the President’s Mother. She was being inspired by all family members. She contributed and devoted her entire life to educate her children. And out of her devotion the above society built up of Educated Family in this village viz. Thirukkanur. The motto of the Society is to spread and impart Education in and around of the Rural Area of Thirukkanur. The concern runs a School by name and style Sudha High School, situated in the centre of the Thirukkanur 1 km away from the college. This school imparts Primary and Secondary Education to the nearby village students at a very low tution fee to give quality education to children who hail from difficult levels of families, of down trodden and poorest of poor since 1989 onwards. An ITI by name and style Indira Gandhi ITI is also possessed by the concern which provides training in both Electrician and Wireman Trades (Approved by the NCVT ,New Delhi) to the10th Std dropouts (for wireman ) and 10th Std Pass out students(Electrician) since 1993 onwards.
Our Society is Registered under Societies Registration Act, under AT XXI of 1860.
The above Society has established B.Ed college during 1999-2000. It has been given NOC by the State Government and Permanent Recognition from 2004-05 Academic year onwards.
The Future: The above society intends to start one Arts and Science college as rural college which spreads Higher Education to downtrodden and poorest of the poor students. Definitely this will bring radical change at rural grass root level. The Management has applied for NOC to Government of Puducherry and this is under process. The Management expects favorable reply from the State Government in this regard.
About ULCE
Usha Latchumanan College of Education (ULCE) is a unique, non-minority, self financing Teacher Training Institution in Pondicherry and is Sponsored by SMG Anjalai Ammal Educational Society.
During academic year 1999-2000 the permanent recognition was accorded by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bangalore. From 2004-05 onwards the college is affiliated with Pondicherry University (a central university). Every year the college is registering result intake between 95% and 98%.
ULCE is a Co-educational Institute which offers B.ED course mostly to students hailing from Tamilnadu and Pondicherry. The college is situated in Thirukkanur and is situated in between Villupuram town at 20 km distance and Pondicherry town at 22 km distance about 10 km distance the NH-45 road.
NOC from the State Government: The College was provided with NOC from the State Government for 100 students.

NCTE : The Permanent Recognition from NCTE was issued on 10th August 2004 with an intake of 100 students.

2004-05 50% of seats were sponsored by the CENTAC. Provisional Affiliation is given from 2004 onwards to current Academic year after conducting Inspections by Affiliation Committee.

The Intake of students From the academic year 2004-05 our college has been taking an intake of 100 students per year with a limitation of 25 students per subject.
